How it works

Creates your school's page and makes you its owner. From there you create groups, invite members and staff, and set up payments.

The Class Details form opens from New organisation in the organisation picker at the top of the side menu. No field is required: anything you leave empty is saved exactly as its hint shows, including the sample banner and logo. If you type your own text, it has to fit each field's length limits.

When you press Create Class the school is created straight away as active, you become its owner and you are taken to its page. The owner always holds every permission in the school. Until the school has at least one group, nobody can be added or invited, so your first step after creating it is to make a group.

To create a school your profile needs its candidate details filled in.

Good to know

If you see the Candidate Data Required window instead of the form, fill in your details first using Become Candidate.

You can change everything later from Settings, in the Profile section, with Edit profile.

There is no subscription or plan step while creating a school.

On this screen

Candidate Data Required window

Appears when your profile doesn't have candidate details yet.

Stops you before the form, because school pages require a completed profile.

The Become Candidate button takes you to your profile to fill in the details. Closing the window takes you back to the home page.

Class Details heading

The top of the form, with a short note on how empty fields work.

Reminds you that you can leave fields empty and still get a complete page.

Below the heading it reads “Fill in the details below to set up your class page.” and “Anything you leave empty is saved exactly as shown, including the banner and logo.”

Banner and logo

The top card of the form, where you pick the school's cover and logo.

Sets how the school looks in lists and in its header.

The banner fills the card's width and the round logo sits at its bottom-left corner. Below them are size hints: Banner: 1500 × 300px and Logo: 1 × 1. If either picture has a problem, the error is shown under the card.

Banner field

The wide cover at the top of the school's page.

Lets you use your own picture instead of the sample one.

Optional, if you pick nothing, the sample picture shown is saved. Press the banner, choose a file and adjust it in the crop window at a 5:1 ratio (like 1500 × 300 px). Only JPG and PNG files under 5 MB are allowed.

Default badge

Shows the banner is still the sample one.

Tells you that you are about to save the sample picture.

Sits in the banner's top-left corner until you pick your own picture, then disappears.

Name field

The school's name as everyone will see it.

Members find and recognise the school by it, in search, in the side menu and in its header.

Optional: if left empty the school is called My School. If you type a name, it must be 3 to 50 characters.

Summary field

One line under the name saying what the school does.

Gives people a quick idea of the school without opening its page.

Optional: if left empty, “Classes for all ages and levels” is saved. If you type text, it must be 3 to 100 characters. It shows under the name in the header and on the school's card.

Description field

A longer text about the school.

Tells members more about your school.

Optional: if left empty, the sample text from the hint is saved. If you type text, it must be 3 to 100 characters. On the school's card it is shown when there is no summary.

Create Class button

Creates the school with the details you entered.

Finishes creation and makes you the new school's owner.

While the school is being created the button is disabled and shows a spinner. On success it takes you to the new school's page. If a field breaks its limits, the error shows under it and nothing is created.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to fill in everything to create a school?

No. Empty fields are saved with the default values shown, and the banner and logo with the sample pictures. You can change them at any time.

What should I do right after creating it?

Create at least one group from the **Groups** tab. Members are enrolled into groups, so without one you can't invite or add anyone.
