The mobile app

The Classes phone app, the offer to open it from the browser, and returning to it after a payment.

Ask Classy

Gives you Classes as an app on your phone, faster, with phone notifications, and with the same account as in the browser.

The app has the same pages as the website and uses the same account. Anything you do in one shows up in the other.

If you open Classes in the browser on an iPhone, iPad or Android phone, Classes offers to continue in the app, before login with a separate screen, and after login with a panel at the bottom of the screen. This only happens when the app is available in the App Store and Google Play.

The first time you open the app, your phone asks whether Classes may send you notifications. If you allow it, notifications arrive on your phone.

If the App Store or Google Play has a newer version of the app, the old version shows an Update required screen and doesn't open until you update.

Good to know

The offer to open the app isn't shown on a computer or inside the app itself.

If you declined phone notifications, you can allow them later in your phone's settings for the Classes app.

On this screen

Get the best experience in our app panel

A panel at the bottom of the screen offering to open Classes in the app.

Lets you continue in the app on the same page you are on in the browser.

Shown when you are logged in and browsing Classes in a phone browser. Below the title it says "Open Classes in the app for a faster, smoother experience." If you decline, it isn't shown again for 7 days on that device, neither the panel nor the pre-login screen.

Open app button

Opens the same page in the app.

Moves you from the browser to the app without losing your place.

If the app is installed it opens on the page you were on. If nothing opens within about a second and a half, Classes sends you to the App Store or Google Play.

Download app button

Opens your phone's app store.

Takes you straight to the Classes page in the store so you can install it.

On iPhone and iPad it opens the App Store; on Android, Google Play.

Continue on web button

Closes the panel and keeps you in the browser.

Lets you use Classes in the browser without the app.

The panel closes and isn't shown for 7 days on that device. The X button in the panel's top right corner does the same.

Pre-login screen on phones

Get the best experience in our app

The screen you see in a phone browser before you log in.

Lets you choose the app before being sent to login in the browser.

It has the same title and text as the panel after login, and three buttons: Open app, Download app and Continue to login. The last one opens the login page in the browser and hides the offer for 7 days on that device.

Taking you back to the app page

A browser page that returns you to the app after an outside step, such as an online payment.

Brings you back to the right place in the app once you have finished something in the browser.

It opens by itself after steps that go through the browser, for example paying by card from the app. The page tries once to open the app on its own. If the app doesn't open, it says "You're all set. If the app doesn't open automatically, use the button below." and offers two buttons:

  • Return to app: tries again to open the app on the right page.
  • Continue in the browser: opens the same page in the browser.

The page doesn't require login and shows no personal data.

Phone notifications permission

Your phone asking whether Classes may send you notifications.

Lets you get notifications on your phone even when the app is closed.

It appears in the mobile app after you log in. If you allow it, the phone is registered for Classes notifications. If the app is open when a notification arrives, it is shown as a short message at the top of the screen. Which kinds of notifications you get is set in My Profile → Notifications.

Update required screen

The screen that stops an outdated version of the mobile app.

Stops you from using an old version of the app that might not work with the current Classes.

Shown in the app when the store has a newer version, any newer version is mandatory. The screen says a new version is available and has an Update now button that opens the app's page in the App Store or Google Play. There is no way to close the screen or get around it until you update.

The check runs on launch and every time you return to the app. On Android, Google Play may also offer its own full-screen update. If the phone is offline or the store doesn't answer, the app opens normally.

In the browser this screen is never shown.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a new account for the app?

No. Log in with the same details you use in the browser.

I pressed Open app but it sent me to the store. Why?

The app didn't open within about a second and a half, usually because it isn't installed. Classes sends you to the App Store or Google Play so you can download it.

My app shows "Update required". What do I do?

Press **Update now**. The button opens the Classes page in the App Store or Google Play, where you update the app. Once updated, it opens normally. The check runs on launch and every time you return to the app, so it is enough to open it again.
