Enrolling a child or yourself
How Classes tells enrolling your child apart from enrolling yourself.
Ask ClassyStep by step
- 1
Add your child to your profile in the Children section with Add Child.
- 2
Open the group and press the enrol button.
- 3
In the Select Who to Enroll window, press the button on your child's row.
How it works
Lets a parent enrol their children from their own account, and an adult participant enrol themselves, without the two getting mixed up.
Children don't need an account of their own. You add them to your profile in the Children section with Add Child. A child only needs a first and last name; the education institution and date of birth are optional (if you give a date, the child must be under 18). You can also add Additional information for the organisers (allergies, who picks the child up and so on), up to 200 characters. From then on each child and you are separate participants: each is enrolled in a group separately and has their own enrolments, requests, lessons and charges.
Where you choose whom to enrol
- On a group page, if you have children, the enrol button opens the Select Who to Enroll window. The children come first, each on a separate row. Enrolling yourself is hidden behind the link "I am the one attending, not my child" and needs a tick, so it can't happen by accident.
- With an invite link, with one child, the child is selected in advance; with several, you pick which ones. Enrolling yourself is tucked behind I am the one attending, not my child so it can't happen by accident.
How you can tell who is enrolled
On group cards and on the group page, enrolled people are marked with labels: You for you and the first name of each child. People waiting for approval have a yellow "Pending" label.
Who pays
Charges for a child are held on your account, but kept separate for that child. Only you, as the account holder, can pay them. In the school's Payments tab you see charges and plans separately for yourself and for each child, and in Payment History in your profile all payments, with the child's name next to each.
Good to know
If you enrol yourself by mistake, there is no leave button in the group, contact the school.
In a private group, a request is filed and approved separately for each child.
