Where Classes opens after you log in
Which page you see first when you log in or open Classes.
Ask ClassyTakes you straight to where you most likely want to be: the link you opened, or your school's calendar.
Classes checks in this order:
- You opened a specific link (an invite, a group, a school page): you go there, even if you had to log in and register first.
- You opened the start address and you have a school. You go to the calendar of the chosen school (the school you used last on this device, otherwise the first one you run, or the first one where you are a user). If you are an owner or have the Manage events and their sessions permission, this is the admin Calendar; otherwise, the Calendar on the school's page.
- You have no school at all: you go to the school search page, where you can look for one. The same page opens from Search organisations in the school picker.
The next time you open Classes, it sends you straight to the page it worked out last time and then checks it still fits, redirecting you if your permissions or schools changed.
Good to know
If the link you opened is broken or no longer leads anywhere, you see the start screen instead.
When you open Classes directly on a specific page, for example from a browser bookmark, that page opens without any redirect.
The logo in the menu also leads to the start address, so it takes you back to the calendar of the chosen school.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I see a school's calendar after logging in instead of the list of schools?
Because you have at least one school. Classes opens the calendar of the one you picked so you see upcoming sessions straight away. You find other schools with **Search organisations**, and you switch between your schools from the school picker at the top of the menu.
