Error pages and messages
What the error screens in Classes mean and what to do when you see one.
Ask ClassyExplains what happened and gives you a quick way out, back to the start, a reload or another try.
Classes shows different screens depending on the problem:
- 404: the page doesn't exist.
- 500: something in Classes broke while you were browsing.
- We could not load your profile: Classes can't fetch your profile, usually because of the connection or an expired session.
- An error message at the top of the screen, the server refused a specific action.
If the problem keeps happening, contact the Classes team at the email shown on the page.
On this screen

Shown when an address doesn't lead to a page in Classes.
Tells you what you were looking for doesn't exist and takes you back to the start.
Above the message it says "Oops!". It appears for a mistyped or outdated address, and when you open the profile of a user who doesn't exist or can't be loaded. The Go to homepage link takes you to the start.
If you got here from a link someone sent you, ask them to check it.

Something went wrong page (500)
Shown when a page in Classes hits an unexpected error.
Saves you from a blank screen and gives you a way to carry on.
It shows a large "500", the title "Something went wrong" and a line with a contact email. The menu stays visible so you can go elsewhere.
- Go to homepage: takes you to the start.
- Refresh page: reloads the page; often that is enough.
We could not load your profile screen
Shown instead of Classes when your profile can't be loaded after login.
We could not load your profile screen
Shown instead of Classes when your profile can't be loaded after login.
Doesn't send you back to registration, it lets you try again or log in afresh.
Usually the cause is a temporary connection problem or an expired session. Your profile is not lost.
- Try again: loads your profile again.
- Log out: logs you out; then log in again. This helps when your session has expired and retrying keeps failing.
If the screen keeps appearing, write to the email given in the text.
Candidate Data Required window
A window that blocks school pages if your profile isn't filled in.
Candidate Data Required window
A window that blocks school pages if your profile isn't filled in.
Tells you that you need a completed profile before browsing or creating schools.
It can appear on the school search page, on a school page or when creating a school, if your account hasn't finished registration. The Become Candidate button opens your profile. Closing the window takes you back to the start.
You normally don't see this window, because registration on first login is required. If it does appear, log out and log in again, Classes will take you to registration.
Error message after an action
A red pop-up message when an action fails.
Error message after an action
A red pop-up message when an action fails.
Tells you why the server refused what you tried, for example an invalid field or an action you aren't allowed to do.
It appears briefly at the top of the screen. The text comes straight from the server and is sometimes in English even when Classes is in Bulgarian. Nothing is saved, fix what it points out and try again.
If your permissions in a school change while you are on the page, Classes updates what you can see without a reload.
