Deleting your account

Ask Classy

Step by step

  1. 1

Open My Profile and choose Account.

  2. 2

In the Danger Zone box press the Delete Account button.

  3. 3

Read what will be removed and press I understand, continue.

  4. 4

    Type DELETE in the box.

  5. 5

    Press Permanently delete my account.

How it works

Permanently removes your profile, your personal data, your children and every group enrolment. Use it when you will no longer use Classes.

Deleting lives in the Danger Zone box in the Account section of your profile (My Profile → Account). It takes two confirmations so it can't happen by accident: first you see what will be removed, then you have to type the word DELETE. Once it finishes you are logged out automatically.

Along with your profile, your children, group memberships, posts and friendships are removed, and if you are staff at a school, your access to it too. The account you log in with is deleted as well. It cannot be undone.

Good to know

The word must match exactly, in capitals and in the language the app is currently in. If the app is in Bulgarian, the word is ИЗТРИЙ.

The final delete button stays disabled until the word matches.

On this screen

Danger Zone box

The red box in the Account section where you delete your account.

Keeps the one action that can't be undone apart from the other settings, so you don't press it by accident.

It sits below the Sign out row in the Account section. Below the title it says "Once you delete your account, there is no going back. Please be certain." and it contains only the Delete Account button.

Delete Account button

Opens the window for deleting your account.

Starts deletion. Pressing it on its own deletes nothing.

Opens the Delete Account window, where you have to confirm twice.

Delete Account window

The two-step confirmation before your account is deleted.

Shows you what you will lose and makes you confirm explicitly before it deletes the account.

Step 1 shows "This action cannot be undone." and lists what is removed: your profile and personal information, all group enrolments and memberships, your payment history and invoices. Press I understand, continue or Cancel.

Step 2 asks you to type DELETE. The Permanently delete my account button only becomes active then. Go back returns you to step 1. While deletion runs the button reads "Deleting...". Closing the window resets both steps.

Frequently asked questions

Can I restore my account after deleting it?

No. Your profile, children and group enrolments can't be brought back. If you later log in again with the same Google or Apple account, you go through registration again as a new user, your old enrolments don't come back, but your payment history stays linked to the account.

What if deleting fails?

The window shows "Something went wrong. Please try again." and your account is left unchanged. Try again in a moment.
