Beta updates

How the owner turns on new Classes features for the whole school before everyone else gets them.

Step by step

    Open Organisation settings from the organisation picker in the menu.

    Choose Beta updates and turn the switch on.

  3. 3

    Wait for the confirmation.

How it works

Gives your school early access to new features that are still being tested.

The switch is in the Beta updates section of Settings, in the Advanced group. It applies to the whole school: every user and staff member sees the same app. The section only shows to the owner, so only the owner can flip it.

The tag shows On or Off. The Currently in beta box lists what the switch turns on. Right now it says "Nothing is in beta right now.", because the new calendar is already for everyone and the switch changes nothing visible. When new features come up for testing, they will appear in this list.

The change is saved immediately, it shows "Beta updates setting saved." or, on failure, "Could not save the beta updates setting."

Good to know

Beta features may change. If you don't like something, turn the switch off and the school goes back to the usual features.

Green On or grey Off.

Enable beta updates switch

Turns beta features on and off for the whole school.

Changes what everyone in the school sees.

Only active for the owner. It is disabled while the change is saving.

Currently in beta list

The features the switch currently turns on.

Tells you exactly what will change before you turn it on.

The list is empty right now and says "Nothing is in beta right now."
