How it works

The children on your profile are the ones you can enrol in groups and see payments for. Here you keep their details up to date and can leave a note for the organisers.

The Children section is in My Profile → General Data, under the personal information. Below the title it says "The children you enrol in groups and pay for." Each child is a row with a circle of initials and the name, and below it the school and date of birth if filled in, and the additional information if there is any.

  • The Add Child button opens an empty form under the list.
  • The pencil icon (Edit) on the child's row turns it into a form.
  • The bin icon (Delete) removes the child after confirmation.

On a computer the two icons appear when you hover over the row. Only one form can be open at a time, starting a new addition closes editing and the other way round.

Good to know

Only the first and last name are required. The education institution, date of birth and additional information are optional.

A child with payments or charges can't be deleted, the server refuses and shows an error message.

There is no limit on the number of children in your profile. The limit of 5 only applies during registration.

Other people who open your profile see the Children section only if you have children added, and can't change it.

On this screen

Children section

The list of your children on **General Data**.

Shows every child on your profile and the actions for them.

If you have no children added, it reads "No children added yet." Next to the title there is a counter with the number of children. On someone else's profile without children the section isn't shown.

Add Child button

Opens the form for a new child.

Lets you add a child you didn't enter during registration.

It sits under the list of children. Only visible on your own profile, and it is hidden while the add form is open.

New child form

The five fields for the new child's details.

Collects what schools need so you can enrol the child.

Only the first and last name are required. Errors appear under the field as you type. Save Changes adds the child and closes the form. Cancel closes the form and clears the fields.

First Name field

The child's first name.

How the school recognises the child.

Required, between 2 and 50 characters.

Empty: "First name is required."

Under 2 characters: "First name must be at least 2 characters."

Over 50 characters: "First name must be at most 50 characters."

Last Name field

The child's surname.

Helps tell apart children with the same name.

Required, between 2 and 50 characters.

Empty: "Last name is required."

Under 2 characters: "Last name must be at least 2 characters."

Over 50 characters: "Last name must be at most 50 characters."

Education Institution field

The child's school or kindergarten.

Gives the school extra information about the child.

Optional. If you fill it in, it must be between 2 and 100 characters.

Under 2 characters: "Education institution must be at least 2 characters."

Over 100 characters: "Education institution must be at most 100 characters."

Date of Birth field

The child's date of birth.

Lets schools check whether the child suits a group.

Optional. If you pick a date, the child must be under 18 and the date can't be in the future. The calendar only offers dates between 18 years ago and today.

Future date: "Date of birth cannot be in the future."

18 or older: "Child must be younger than 18 years old."

Additional information field

A note about the child for the organisers.

Lets you tell the organisers something important about the child, for example allergies, who picks them up or preferences.

Optional. The field is tucked behind the Add information link. When you open it you see a text box with a character counter, at most 200 characters. Remove information clears what you wrote and hides the field. The information you filled in shows under the child's name in the list.

Over 200 characters: "Additional information can be at most 200 characters."

Save Changes button

Adds the child to your profile.

Saves the new child so you can enrol them in groups.

Checks the fields. On success the child appears in the list and the form closes. If the server refuses, the form stays open and an error message shows at the top. On a phone it is just a tick icon.

Cancel button

Closes the form without adding a child.

Abandons adding.

Clears the fields and closes the form. On a phone it is just an X icon.

Child row

One child's details on your profile.

Shows what schools know about the child and gives you the buttons to change it.

Shows a circle with the initials, the child's name, and below it the school and date of birth if filled in, and the additional information if there is any. On your own profile the Edit and Delete icons are on the right.

Edit button

Turns the child's card into a form.

Lets you fix the child's details.

Opens the same four fields with the current values and the same rules as when adding. Save Changes saves and closes the form; Cancel restores the old values. Opening it closes the add form if it is open.

Delete button (bin)

Removes the child from your profile.

Lets you remove a child added by mistake or no longer needed.

Opens a confirmation window. The child is only removed after you confirm.

If the child has payments or charges, deletion is refused and an error message shows at the top.

Delete window (confirmation)

Are you sure you want to delete this child?

Confirmation before the child is removed.

Protects you from deleting by accident.

Yes, delete removes the child, while the request runs the button is disabled. On success the window closes and the card disappears. Cancel closes the window with no change.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I delete a child?

Because there are payments or charges for them in some school. Those records have to stay linked to the child.

My child turned 18. What happens?

If you filled in a date of birth, it has to be within the last 18 years. If you try to edit a child who is already 18 or older, the form won't accept the date.

Where do I write about my child's allergies?

In the child's **Additional information**. The school's organisers can see this note.
